Teratogens are agents that are responsible for disruptions in devlopment othat cause malformations or abnormalities
to occur. These can be chemicals such as mercury that is naturally found in the environment or prescription medications.
Teratogens may also be non-chemical in nature and may be things such as heat, viruses, or other illnesses incurred during
pregnancy.
